Obituary
Richard G. Beal, age 66, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2019, at his Mt. Pleasant Twp home, where he resided for the past 20 years.
He was born on Wednesday, December 31, 1952 in Pen Argyl, PA, a son of the late Walter and Marguerite (Graver) Beal. Richard graduated from the Pen Argyl Area High School in 1970. He faithfully served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1973.
On July 14, 1984, Richard married his loving wife, the former Mary Lea (Robinson) Elmo. For over 25 years, Richard was employed by Small Mountain Quarry, Dorrance, as an Equipment Operator until his retirement in 2014. He was a member of the Bloomsburg V.F.W. Post #804, and the Millville American Legion Post #564. Richard enjoyed boating, fishing, and hunting.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 34 years, Mary Lea Beal at home, a son, Derek Elmo and wife Beth of Morris Plains, NJ, a daughter, Laura Elmo wife of Daniel Fosco of Easton, four grandchildren, Sasha Fosco, Natalie Fosco, Jack Elmo, Elizabeth Elmo, and a brother, William Beal and wife Sarah of Wind Gap, PA.
Funeral Services will be private at the convenience of the family. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Streets, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Beal family.
