Reginald J. Miller, age 82, a life-long resident of Bloomsburg, died peacefully on Friday morning, April 8, 2011 at his home. He resided at his home, with his wife, on West 12th Street for over 60 years.
Reginald was born on Saturday, January 5, 1929 in Bloomsburg, a son of the late Homer and Zella Vogt Miller. He attended the Bloomsburg Area Schools. Throughout his earlier years, he was employed by Magee Carpet Company as a Weaver. Most recently, he was employed by Bloomsburg Carpet Co. as a Supervisor, until his retirement in 1991. He was a member of the St. Columba Catholic Parish in Bloomsburg. Reginald was a life-long farmer and enjoyed spending his time with his family, fishing, hunting, camping and spending time with his faithful dog, Fanny.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 62 years, Eleanor McCloskey Miller; seven children: Richard L. Miller of Catawissa; Regina E. Chiogna of Mountain Top; Rock E. Miller of Catawissa; Rosemarie Neiderhiser and husband, Dale, of Bloomsburg; Blase I. Miller and wife, Lisa, of Orangeville; Christine C. Dilg and husband, Edward, of Bloomsburg; Bonita D. Gibson and husband, Chris, of Virginia Beach, VA; 17 grandchildren: Brett Miller, Beth Kajmowicz, Jennifer Snyder, Zachary Miller, Oren Miller, Alyssa Chiogna, Logan Miller, Kylie Jeffrey, Adam Neiderhiser, Alex Neiderhiser, Brandon Miller, Cody Miller, Tyler Dilg, Trevor Dilg, Tanner Dilg, Kayla Gibson and Madison Gibson; three great-grandsons: Ryan Kajmowicz, Jacob Kajmowicz and Elijah Miller; three siblings: Richard W. Miller and wife, Nancy, of Bloomsburg; Eugene C. Miller and wife, Dorothy, of Byrdstown, TN; and Dawn E. Sorber of Bloomsburg.
A Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, April 11 from 6 to 8 p.m. from the Allen Funeral Home, 745 Market at Eighth Street in Bloomsburg
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 12 at 10 a.m. from St. Columba Catholic Church, Third and Iron Street in Bloomsburg, with Rev. Joseph H. Fennessy, as celebrant. Graveside Services will be held in All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg. The Immediate family will provide flowers and memorial contributions are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
