Regina M. Walsh, age 67, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024, a patient of the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Regina was a resident of her home in Hemlock Township for over 24 years.
Regina was born on Tuesday, August 27, 1957 in Brooklyn, a daughter of the late Edward and Patricia (Howley) Gillen. She graduated from the Tilden High School, Brooklyn in 1975. On September 9, 1978, Regina married her loving husband, John Walsh. She started her career as a dental assistant in NY and for several years, she was employed as a cafeteria worker at an elementary school in Littleton, CO. Regina was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church, Bloomsburg. She enjoyed spending her time bowling, cooking and going to the beach at Breezy Point.
In addition to her parents, Regina was also preceded in death by a brother; Edward Gillen; three sisters: Patricia Murphy, Mary Beth Keenan and Janet Young; and a nephew, Mikey Reilly.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 46 years, John Walsh of Bloomsburg; two daughters: Gina Walsh of Bloomsburg, Meagan Walsh of Brooklyn, NY; two sisters, Eileen Gillen of Long Island, NY, Laurie MacDonald and husband Kyle of Breezy Point, NY; two brothers-in-law, Patrick Murphy of Queens, NY and Christopher Young of Long Island, NY.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at 10:00 am at St. Columba Catholic Church, 342 Iron St., Bloomsburg with Rev. Richard J. Mowery as celebrant. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in New Rosemont Cemetery, Bloomsburg. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Walsh family.
