Ralph H. Eyer, age 80, 1165 Lightstreet Road, Bloomsburg, died Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Prior to moving to Lightstreet Road, he resided on E. 10th Street, Bloomsburg for over 31 years.
Ralph was born on Saturday, June 14, 1930 in Bloomsburg, the son of the late Ralph H. and Edna (Rupert) Eyer, Sr. He was a 1948 graduate of Bloomsburg High School. During the Korean War he served in the Marine Corps. He was employed until 1991 as a grounds keeper by Danville State Hospital. He had also been employed by the former Magee Carpet Co and Bloomsburg Fair.
He was a member of the Lime Ridge United Methodist Church and American Legion Post 273. He enjoyed gardening work, hunting, classic cars and especially spending time with his granddaughters.
He was preceded by his wife, Gloria D. (Haney) Eyer on July 16, 1990.
Ralph is survived by his companion of 18 years, Dolores M. Bennett; a daughter: Pamela Bauman and her husband, Harry; a son: David R. "Satch" Eyer and his wife Pat, all of Bloomsburg; three granddaughters: Ashlee Eyer of Charlotte, NC; Justeen Eyer of Bloomsburg and Lori Bauman of Bloomsburg.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 13 at 10 A.M. from the Allen Funeral Home at 745 Market and Eighth Street, Bloomsburg with Rev. Vincent R. Siciliano, former minister of First English Baptist Church, officiating.
Friends will be received on Friday, November 12 from 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Graveside Service will be in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge, with military honors. For those unable to personally attend, online condolences are available at Allen-FuneralHome.com
