Phyllis J. Starr , age 86, of Elimsport, died on Thursday, June 23, 2016, at her home surrounded by her family. Phyllis was a resident of her home in Washington township for over 66 years.
Phyllis was born on Tuesday, April 15, 1930 in Templeton, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Ralph and Ethel (Adams) Furlong.Throughout her younger years, Phyllis attended the Kittaning High School. For many years, Phyllis was self employed with her husband as an General Store Merchant and Antique Vendor until her retirement in 2008.
Phyllis was a member of the Elimsport Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending her time sewing and antique collecting.
In addition to her parents, Phyllis was also preceded by five brothers and one sister. She was the last member of her immediate family.
Survivors include her daughter, Alicia R. Farley of Allenwood, a son, Timothy Lee Starr and wife ,Marie, of Williamsport, 5 grandchildren: Chasety Starr, Clint Farley, Carlynn Farley, Codey Farley and Colton Farley and 5 great grandchildren: Chloe, Leah, Makayla, Kristopher and Nathan.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2016 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Elimsport Baptist Church, Route 44 Elimsport.
Funeral Services will begin on Saturday at 2:00 pm at the church in with her pastor, Rev. Todd Baker, officiating. Graveside committal services be held at the convenience of the family at a later date. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Starr family.
