Phyllis L. Meldrum, age 76, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Friday evening, June 12, 2020, a patient of the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Phyllis was a resident of her home in South Centre Twp. for over 40 years.

She was born on Tuesday, September 7, 1943 in Shelby, NC, a daughter of the late A. Gilbert and Anita (McCluney) Lipscomb. Phyllis graduated from the Crestwood High School, Boiling Springs, NC and expanded her education by graduating from Baptist Hospital School Of Nursing, Winston Salem, NC in 1964. On July 10, 1965, Phyllis married her loving husband, Dr. Robert W. Meldrum. For over 40 years, she was employed as a Registered Nurse first at Bowman Gray Hospital, Winston-Salem, NC, later at Elliot Hospital in the pediatric department, Manchester, NH. Phyllis also was a Registered Nurse and Nurse Administrator in her husband's office in Bloomsburg until her retirement in 2012.

Phyllis was a member of the First English Baptist Church, where she participated in the church choir and various leadership ministries. She served as a former Vice President of the Central Columbia District School Board, and served on The Bloomsburg Hospital Auxillary Board. Phyllis enjoyed spending her time gardening, cooking, walking, reading, the outdoors, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Phyllis was also preceded in death by a son in law, Michael Kaminski in 2018.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 55 years, Dr. Robert W. Meldrum of Bloomsburg, two children a son, Robert Meldrum and wife Clara Jane of Greenville, IN, a daughter, Heather Kaminski of Cranberry Twp., PA; six grandchildren, John Meldrum, Maryn Meldrum, Kathleen Meldrum, Iris Meldrum, Michael Kaminski, Robert Kaminski; three sisters, Laura High, Karen wife of James Martin, Harriet wife of Robert Willis, and a brother Gerald Lipscomb, all of North Carolina.

A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Streets, Bloomsburg.

Funeral Services will begin on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at 11:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. in with Rev. Dr. Lee Barnhardt, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Meldrum family.
