Peter J. Gillespie, age 69, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023, a patient of the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Pete was a lifelong resident of Bloomsburg.

Pete was born on Sunday, November 22, 1953 in Bloomsburg, a son of the late James and Marjorie (Ent) Gillespie. He graduated from Columbia Montour Vo Tech School in 1973. For over 35 years, he was self-employed as a contractor until his retirement on August 1, 2022. He was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church, Bloomsburg. He was also a member of the Bloomsburg American Legion Post 273 and Bloomsburg Elks Lodge # 436. Pete enjoyed spending his time following the Philadelphia Eagles and golfing with his friends.

In addition to his parents, Pete was also preceded in death by his son, Jonathan Gillespie in 2003.

Survivors include his partner, MaryAnn Gillespie of Bloomsburg, a daughter, Julianne Gillespie and wife Sarah of Alexandria, VA, four siblings: James "Spike" Gillespie and wife Joyce of Bloomsburg, Hervey Gillespie and wife Deborah of Bloomsburg, Joseph Gillespie and wife Aom of Thailand, Marjorie Evans and husband David of New Tripoli and numerous nieces and nephews.

Private graveside committal services will be held in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy at the convenience of the family. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Gillespie family.
