Pearl L. Shaffer, age 79, 717 Locust Street, Bloomsburg, died Friday, December 19 at Orangeville Nursing and Rehab Center. Pearl had resided on Locust St. since 1954, prior to that she lived on the family farm on Shaffer Road, Scott Township.
Pearl was born March 11, 1929 in Scott Township, the daughter of the late Roy C. and Lillian (Sitler) Shaffer. She was a 1947 graduate of the former Scott High School and received training at Geisinger Medical Center School of Nursing. Pearl was a Practical Nurse at Geisinger for thirteen years and was a Private Duty Nurse in the Bloomsburg area for many years.
Pearl was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Bloomsburg.
Survivors include two sisters: Grace M., Bloomsburg and Mae Lucille Shaffer, Orangeville; three brothers: Rolland O Shaffer, Almedia, Raymond Shaffer, Orangeville and Howard Shafferand his wife, Betty, Bloomsburg and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers: Earl C. and Doyle C. Shaffer.
Funeral services will be Monday at 11 A.M. from the Allen Funeral Home, 745 Market at Eighth St., Bloomsburg with her pastor, The Rev. Joel L. Zeiders officiating. Friends will be received from 10 A.M. until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in New Rosemont Cemetery.
