Paul A. Readey, age 80, of Elysburg, passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at his home where he resided with his daughter, Debra. He lived in Cleveland Township for two years.
Paul was born on Monday, May 7, 1945 in St. Louis, MO, a son of the late Harvey and Mary Amelia (Foster) Readey. He grew up in Memphis, TN, playing football with Elvis before both of them enlisted in the military. He achieved his GED during the military. Paul faithfully served in the United States Navy from August 20, 1962 stationed in Iceland during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged July 6, 1966. For many years, Paul was employed by Snap On Tools as a Salesperson until his retirement, where he received many awards for being a top salesman. He was a member of the Catawissa American Legion Post 541. Paul enjoyed spending his time working on classic automobiles, going to auctions looking for antiques, traveling and especially spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, Paul was also preceded in death by his brother, Harvey Readey, Jr., and sister-in-law, Alice Readey.
Survivors include his two daughters: Debra Lukus and her companion, "Crow" Wynings of Elysburg and Mary "Beth" Billig and husband Mark of Numidia; four grandchildren: Paula Kester and her companion, Jake Hewes of St. Clair, Steven J. Lukus and fiancee Kirsten Sweeney of Danville, Camille Kester and Mason Kester both of Lexington, KY; three great-grandchildren: Kinzey, Anthony and Mikayla, two siblings: Mark Readey and wife Margaret Readey of FL, Mary Lynn Zahnen and husband Joe of Knoxville, TN, former wife, Diane Readey of Catawissa, and as well as numerous nieces and nephews, especially Joanna Brune.
Private Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the family. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Readey family.
