Paul M. Peifer, Sr., age 87, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Tuesday morning, September 6, 2022, a patient of The Gardens at Millville. Paul was a resident of his home in Bloomsburg for over 20 years.

He was born on Friday, June 28, 1935 in Shamokin, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Caster and Emma (Reed) Peifer. Throughout his younger years, Paul attended the Treverton area schools.

In 1975 Paul married his loving wife, Rachel (Ernest) Peifer formerly of Shamokin. For most of his working life Paul was employed as a construction worker until his retirement. He enjoyed spending his time working on and fixing vehicles and working at the former Diehl's Nursery Repair Shop. He enjoyed going out to eat especially at the former Kemler's Restaurant.

In addition to his parents, Paul was also preceded in death by his wife, Rachel in January, 2020 and a sister: Grace Coleman.

Survivors include his five children, Kenneth Peifer, Karen Carl and husband Robert, Keith Peifer and wife Karen, Paul Peifer, Jr. and wife Linda, Darryl Peifer, four stepchildren: Glenda Zimmerman and husband Russel, Tina Wisniewski and husband Stanley, Beth Coladonato and Rose Hunsinger and husband Chris; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and three sisters: Janie Erdman, Rita Folds and Marjorie Peifer.

A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, September 9, 2022 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth St., Bloomsburg.

Funeral services will begin on Friday, September 9, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Michael Spagnuolo, pastor of Catawissa Christian Church, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in the Esther Furnace Cemetery, Catawissa. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Peifer family.
