Paul H. "Jinx" Kindt, age 93, a 50 year resident of Millertown died on Wednesday, February 8, 2012, a resident of Bloomsburg Health Care Center since 2008.
Paul was born on Thursday, June 20, 1918 in Mt. Pleasant Township, a son of the late Bruce and Grace (Ruckle) Kindt. Throughout his young life, he attended school at the former Mt. Pleasant Twp. School. For over 27 years, he was employed by Girton Manufacturing Co. in Millville until retiring in 1980. Also, he farmed continuously throughout his life in Mt. Pleasant Twp. and on his own farm for as long as he was able. He and his late wife were former members of the Millville Christian Church in Millville. He was also a member of the Millville Fire Co., the NRA, an Honor member of the Sheriff's Association, a member with the Pennsylvania Farmers Union and also a former Mt. Pleasant Township Supervisor.
On September 11, 2008, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, the late Evelyn (Kessler) Kindt. Also preceding him was a daughter: Judith Meyer; a granddaughter: Kimberly Kindt Tuzzi; a sister: Charlotte Moyer; and three brothers: Kenneth Kindt, Woodrow Kindt and Claude Kindt.
Survivors include a son: Layne D. Kindt and wife, Coralee, of Mt. Pleasant Twp.; and a great-granddaughter: Heather Tuzzi and a great-great-grandson: Patrick; as well as two sisters: Darl Johnson of Millville; and Shirley Lawton of Millville; and two brothers: Bruce Kindt, Jr. of Bloomsburg and Blaine Kindt of Millville.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, February 12 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 107 W. Main at Railroad Street, Millville.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 13 at 10 a.m. from the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. in Millville with Thomas J. Fetterolf, officiating. Graveside services will follow in Ikeler Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Twp.
