Paul E. Flick, age 86, of Bloomsburg, died on Sunday, January 22, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family and under the care of Geisinger Columbia Montour Hospice. Paul was a resident of his home in Bloomsburg for over 56 years.
Paul was born on Monday, October 13, 1930 in Almedia, PA, a son of the late Henry G. and Alice (Faux) Flick. Throughout his younger years, Paul attended area schools and later graduated from the former Scott High School in 1948.
Paul faithfully served his country in the United States Coast Guard where he was a diesel mechanic and was Honorably discharged on January 11, 1954.
For over 32 yr years, Paul was a Business Owner and was a well known local electrician. He was co owner and operator of Flick Brothers Electric until his retirement in 1985.
Paul was a member of the Bloomsburg Baptist Church of Espy. He was also a member of the Bloomsburg American Legion, Bloomsburg Elks Lodge #436 B.P.O.E., Bloomsburg Moose L.O.O.M #623 , Washington Lodge #265 F&AM, Caldwell Consistory, and the National Rifle Association. Paul was well known as a Director of Bloomsburg Fair where he served as Superintendent of Horse Racing for many years. He enjoyed hunting and was active with Pheasants Forever.
In addition to his parents, Paul was also preceded by his first wife, Patricia C. (Long) Flick 0n September 19, 1990 and three siblings: Betty B. Flick, Donald G. Flick, and Henry N. Flick.
Survivors include his wife Delores L. (Walter) Flick of Bloomsburg; children: Kathy J. Sausser of Montoursville, Betsy K. (Stanley Stambaugh) Flick of New Cumberland, Paula M. (Joel) Novak of Nescopeck, Connie (John) Seybert of Montverde, FL, and John H. (Janet) Flick of Bloomsburg, PA, 10 grandchildren, step children Stephanie (Neil Patel) Trump of Haymarket, VA, and Darren G. Trump of Catawissa, PA.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth St., Bloomsburg.
Funeral Services will begin on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 10:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. with his pastor, Rev. Craig D. Laidacker, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in the New Rosemont Cemetery, Bloomsburg. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Flick family.
