Obituary

Norman Steck, age 83, of Danville, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2020, at the home of his daughter, Hope in Millville surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on Tuesday, August 24, 1937 in New Rochelle, NY, a son of the late Frederick and Katharina (Volk) Steck. Norm graduated from the Admiral Farragut Military Academy, Toms River, NJ and attended Upsala College, East Orange, NJ. He faithfully served his country in the US Army from July, 1956 and was honorably discharged in July, 1958. After 11 years Norm sold his family business, Steck's Delicatessen in Somerville, NJ to pursue his dream of becoming a farmer. On December 16, 1967, Norm married his loving wife, the former Cynthia Krawchuk. Norm was a member of The Watsontown Alliance Church for 43 years. He loved God and his family, and enjoyed spending time outdoors.

In addition to his parents, Norm was also preceded in death by a son, Shane Steck, and a granddaughter, Heidi Steck.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 52 years, Cynthia Steck, four children, Todd Steck of Maine, Hope wife of George Laubach of Millville, Kara Steck of Millville, Matthew Steck and wife Autum of Danville, ten grandchildren; Samantha Steck, Emily wife of Brandon Farrow, Chase Laubach, Hallie Laubach, Cameron Laubach, Caleb Laubach, Katarina Steck, Madeline Steck, Austin Steck, Ethan Steck, two great grandchildren, Marlee Farrow, Malakai Farrow, a brother, Fred Steck and wife Sue of Muncy, and a sister, Barbara wife of Andrew Daskalakis of Bethesda, MD.

A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2020 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Watsontown Alliance Church, 1165 Eighth Street Drive, Watsontown.

A Celebration of Life service will begin on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at 2:00 pm at the Watsontown Alliance Church with Pastor Scott Bartholomew, officiating. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 107 West Main St, Millville is honored to be serving the Steck family.
