Noreen M. Livengood, age 85, of Fernville and formerly of Ford City, PA, died on Thursday Morning, April 12, 2012, a patient of the Bloomsburg Hospital. Noreen had been battling health issues for the past several years.
Noreen was born on Tuesday, February 1, 1927 in Cadishead, England, a daughter of the late Joseph and Clara Bates. She completed her education in Schools in England. In addition to working in the home, Noreen was employed by the Armstrong County School District. For over 50 years, she was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Ford City where she was also a former Sunday School Teacher for 30 years. She also attended the Wesley United Methodist Church while residing in Bloomsburg
On July 13, 2006, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, the late Harold C. Livengood, and also by triplet sons: Dean, Dale and Dennis; as well as three brothers: Harold Bates, Jack Bates and Joseph Bates.
Surviving are her two sons: David C. Livengood and wife, Cathy, of Bloomsburg; and Alan J. Livengood of Pittsburgh; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; as well as two sisters: Georgina Knapp of Pasadena, MD and Janice Petrovich of Cortland, NY.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 16 at 11 a.m. from the Mantini Funeral Home, Inc. 701 Sixth Ave., Ford City, PA 16226 with Rev. Jim Vincent of the 1st Baptist Church of Ford City, officiating. Friends will be received on Monday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the Mantini Funeral Home, Inc., Ford City. Graveside services will follow in the Ford City Cemetery.
