Niles P. Hoch, age 75, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at the Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital. Niles was a resident of his home in Bloomsburg for over 40 years.
He was born on Monday, February 8, 1943 in Slocum Twp., PA, a son of the late Paul and Marian (Deets) Hoch. On February 6, 1977, Niles married his loving wife, the former Virginia S. Coleman. For over 20 years, Niles was employed by Sokol, Inc., Bloomsburg as a truck driver. He previously was an owner/operator with his tractor trailer for many years. Niles attended the Bloomsburg Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending his time going to bluegrass music events, and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 41 years, Virginia S. Hoch at home; three children, Sherrie L. wife of Chris Wright of Berwick; Paul N. Hoch of Bloomsburg; Seth J. Hoch of Hanover Twp.; three stepchildren, Denise Y. Harvey of Elysburg; Christopher T. Harvey of Bloomsburg; Stanley J. Harvey, III of Berwick; eleven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Brenda wife of Martin Ryman; Miriam Hoch; and a brother, John Hoch and wife Bonnie all of Wapwallopen.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Streets, Bloomsburg.
Funeral Services will begin on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Bloomsburg Baptist Church, 2405 Old Berwick Road, Bloomsburg with Pastor Craig D. Laidacker, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in the Hidlay Cemetery. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Hoch family.
