Naomi C. Fleming, age 88, died on Thursday, April 15, 2010 at the Bloomsburg Health Care Center. She was formerly a resident of her home on Shuman Street in Catawissa, but currently lived at the Bloomsburg Health Care Center since February of 2009.
Naomi was born on Sunday, December 25, 1921 in Berwick, a daughter of the late Sidney and Frances (Clewell) Cortwright. Early in life, she attended the Berwick Area Schools and completed her education in Danville. She was a 1938 Danville High School Graduate.
For most of her working career, she offered her services of clerical work throughout the area until her retirement in 1973.
Survivors include a daughter: Debra English of Bloomsburg; a granddaughter: Desiree English Spaid and her husband, Frank of Mifflinville.
Naomi was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Fleming, Jr. in November of 1980; a twin sister: Ruth Young in July of 2007; four sisters: Arlene Larish, Edna Pollock, Margaret Benedict and Dorothy Cortwright; and a brother: Raymond Cortwright. Services will be at the convenience of the immediate family, and are under the care of the Allen Funeral Home at 745 Market Street in Bloomsburg.
