Obituary

Nancy Kay Fought, age 84, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Sunday morning, June 9, 2024, a resident of the Emmanuel Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, Danville. Nancy was a resident of her home in Scott Twp. for over 56 years.

She was born on Friday, August 18, 1939 in Bloomsburg, a daughter of the late Homer T. and Beatrice Mae (Sweigart) Sneidman. She graduated from the Central Columbia High School in 1957. On August 29, 1959, Nancy married her loving husband, Brittian Paul Fought who preceded her in death on July 2, 2020. For over 30 years, Nancy was employed by First Columbia Bank as an Executive Secretary until her retirement in 2000. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Espy. She was also a member of the Espy Women's Civic Club, a Bloomsburg Fair Shareholder and Concessionaire, Central Columbia Wrestling Boosters and the Red Hat Society. Nancy enjoyed yard sales, playing cards, concessions, her ministry, playing slot machines and her family.

In addition to her parents and husband, Nancy was also preceded in death by two brothers: William and Carl Sneidman.

Survivors include her two children: William C. Fought and wife Valerie of Bloomsburg, Stephanie F. Streater and husband Mark W. of Bloomsburg; three grandchildren: Joshua Fought and significant other, Darby Reay of Havelock, NC, Shelley B. Mock and husband Jeremy of Lake Elsinore, CA, Cole Streater and wife Dominique of Bloomsburg; three step grandchildren: Taryn Monson of Orangeville, Dustin Flick of Lightstreet and Cecilia Toomey of Danville; 11 great-grandchildren and a sister, Jean Niles of Wellsboro.

A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, June 17, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg.

Memorial Services will begin on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at 10:00 am at Trinity United Methodist Church, 2351 Old Berwick Road, Bloomsburg with Rev. Kelly Kocher Ross, officiating. Graveside committal services will be private at the convenience of the family. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Fought family.
