Myrtle Jane Long, age 76, of Berwick, passed away on Friday, January 1, 2021, a patient of the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Myrtle was a resident of her home in North Centre Twp. for over 30 years and resided in the area all of her life.
She was born on Friday, December 29, 1944 in Bloomsburg, a daughter of the late John E . and Ruth B. (Bowman) Long. Myrtle graduated from Central Columbia High School. For over 30 years, Myrtle was employed by Lady Esther as a Stock Clerk until her retirement in 2006. Myrtle was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church, Espy and a social member of the VFW, Bloomsburg and the former Moose Lodge. She enjoyed spending her time bowling, taking care of her animals, camping, and spending time with her sisters and family. She lived with her best friend of over 30 years, Marie Rozinski.
In addition to her parents, Myrtle was also preceded in death by a sister, Pat Flick.
Survivors include her beloved children; Eric J. Smith of Bloomsburg, Stacy L. Smith of Bloomsburg, Steve J. Smith and wife Valerie of Berwick, Scott A. Smith of Montandon, Brad J. Smith of Berwick; six grandchildren, five great grandchildren; seven sisters, Joline Thoryk, Jill wife of Chris Chandler, Kay Boudman, Jan Farrar, Jackie wife of Rich Rupp, Judy Kressler, and Joyce wife of Jim Hammer, all of Bloomsburg.
A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on
Wednesday, January 6, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Streets, Bloomsburg.
Funeral services will begin on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 10:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Gordon E. Smith, officiating.
Graveside committal services will immediately follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Orangeville. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Long family.
