Mildred S. Lee, age 90, of Bloomsburg, died on Monday, August 13, 2018, a patient of the Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital. Mildred was a resident of her home in Scott Township for over 62 years.
Mildred was born on Friday, February 17, 1928 in Berwick, the only child of the late Howard and Ceola (Slusser) Steely. Throughout her younger years, Mildred attended the Berwick area schools, and later graduated from the Berwick High School in 1946. Most of her working life she was employed by Bell Telephone Co. as an Operator.
Mildred was a member of the Lightstreet United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Berwick YMCA Senior Water Aerobics. Mildred enjoyed spending time baking for family, friends and community activities (including her famous cookies). Most important to her was her family.
In addition to her parents, Mildred was also preceded by her husband of 50 years, Paul D. Lee, on April 6, 2002 and a grandson, Joshua Peak on January 26, 2010.
Survivors include three children: Brenda Lee Diehl of Simpsonville, KY, Bonnie Lee Peak and husband, John, of Sugarloaf, and Paul H. Lee and wife, Kristie, of Bloomsburg: grandchildren: Nathan Diehl, Andrew Diehl, Caitlin Diehl, Zechariah Peak, Jared Peak, Noah Peak, Jaclyn Siepka, and Hannah Lee and a great-grandson, Nolan Peak. Mildred was anticipating the birth of a great-granddaughter in November.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2018 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth St., Bloomsburg.
Funeral Services will continue on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. with her pastor, Rev. Jennifer Parks-Snyder, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in the Lightstreet Highland Cemetery. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Lee family.
