Mikel B. Strickland, age 23, of Danville, died suddenly on October 26, 2014 at his home.
Mikel was born on Wednesday, September 4, 1991, in Berwick, a son of Mikel W. Strickland of Bloomsburg and Allisa (Prior) DePoe and husband, Martin, also of Bloomsburg. Throughout his younger years, Mikel attended the Bloomsburg Area Schools. Most recently, Mikel was employed by the T/A Truck Stop in Buckhorn as a cashier.
Also surviving in addition to his parents, is his maternal grandmother with whom he resided, Sue Stanton, of Danville; two siblings: Sasha and Kimber Strickland both of Bloomsburg; and three step-siblings: Scott, Christopher and Courtney DePoe all of Bloomsburg.
Funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon, October 31 at 2 p.m. from the First English Baptist Church, 700 Millville Road (State Route 42), Bloomsburg, with Rev. Dr. Lee Barnhardt, officiating. Private graveside committal services for the immediate family will immediately follow in Lime Ridge. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Strickland and DePoe families.
