Michael J. Ketchem, age 55, of 278 East 8th St., Bloomsburg, died Friday, October 30, 2009 in the Geisinger Medical Center where he was admitted on Saturday, October 24. Michael has been a Bloomsburg resident his entire life. Born June 1, 1954, in Bloomsburg, Mr. Ketchem was the son of Robert and Ellen (Gearinger) Ketchem, both of Bloomsburg. He graduated from the Bloomsburg High School in 1973. He was a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church, Bloomsburg American Legion and Ft. McClure VFW. He greatly enjoyed playing darts & pool with his friends at the Paddock. Surviving in addition to his parents is a sister: Tracy Butters of Bloomsburg and three brothers: Robert Ketchem and wife, Marci, of Harrisburg; Daniel Ketchem and wife, Karen of Rensselaer, IN; and Terry Ketchem and wife, Aricia, of Danville. Also surviving are eight nieces and nephews: Gwen, Terry, Jr., Brian, Christopher, Joseph, Jennifer, Samantha and Sydney. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 2 at 10 a.m. from the Allen Funeral Home, 745 Market at Eighth St., Bloomsburg with Rev. Allen F. Acor officiating. Burial will be in New Rosemont Cemetery. Friends will be received Sunday from 6 to 8 P.M.
