Meralea Ann Cook, age 40, of Trout Run, died on Monday, May 6, 2024. Meralea was a resident of her home in Trout Run for over two years.

She was born on Thursday, May 26, 1983 in Oneida, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Jill (McGolrick) Balser. She graduated from the West Henderson High School, NC in 2001. She expanded her education by attending University of Phoenix and graduated with an associate degree and preceded on to achieve her bachelor's degree. On June 25, 2012, Meralea married her loving husband, Keith B. Cook. She was employed by Geisinger Medical Center as an office worker. Meralea was a member of the Bloomsburg Christian Church. She enjoyed spending her time with her two kids and going to dance competitions with her daughter, Marissa. She also enjoyed kayaking and hiking, she loved traveling and planning family reunions.

In addition to her mother, Meralea was also preceded in death by a grandfather, James McGolrick an aunt, Ruth Hutton and her mother-in-law, Linda Jean Cook.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 12 years, Keith B. Cook of Trout Run, two children: Marissa Cook and Kaleb J. Cook of Trout Run; her father: Gordon Balser, NC; four step siblings: Stephanie, Makayla, Drake and Brandon; a grandmother, Evelyn McGolrick, four aunts; Tammy Balser and husband, Kevin of Zion Grove, Vicki Kuczynski of Scotch Valley, Donna Hons of Fern Glen, and Linda Robinson of Bloomsburg.

Funeral ceremony for family and friends will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024, 5 pm at Bloomsburg Christian Church, 107 Deussen Dr., Bloomsburg with Lead Minister Eric Miller officiating. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Cook family.
