Meda M. Howard, age 97, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Monday, May 24, 2021, a patient of the Bonham Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Stillwater. Meda was a resident of Bloomsburg her entire life.

She was born on Saturday, October 6, 1923 in Bloomsburg, a daughter of the late George and Ruth (Hartzell) Long. Meda graduated from the Bloomsburg High School in 1943. Meda was employed by the former Hud's Restaurant, Bloomsburg as a prep cook until her retirement in 1991. She was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God, Bloomsburg where she a member of the Keenagers group. Meda was also very active in the Senior Center, Bloomsburg.

In addition to her parents, Meda was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Norman L. Howard on November 30, 1993, a son, David L. Howard on March 28, 1993, three brothers, Paul Long, Collins Long and Albert Long, and a son-in-law, Martin Horkey.

Survivors include her five children; Marqueen wife of John Herring of Catawissa, Patricia Ball of Hazleton, Paul Howard and wife Sandra of Berwick, Janet Horkey of Bloomsburg, Susan wife of Joel Barndt of Bloomsburg, fifteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and twelve great-great-grandchildren.

A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Glad Tidings Assembly of God, 706 Central Road, Bloomsburg.

Funeral services will begin on Friday, May 28, 2021 at 11:00 am at Glad Tidings Assembly of God with Rev. John Kolenda, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge.
