Maryann Paragian, age 91, of Bloomsburg, passed away surrounded by her loving family, Monday, October 17, 2022, a patient of the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Maryann was born on Friday, February 13, 1931 in Berwick, a daughter of the late Vahan Jack and Almast (Karabajakian) Paragian. She graduated from the Berwick High School class of 1949. For over 38 years, Maryann was employed in the banking industry and retired from Mellon Bank in 1996. To those who knew her "The door to her house was always open and welcoming to anyone who entered." She loved time spent with her three girls and grandchildren. Over her lifetime rescued many cats and dogs from life of abuse/neglect. She was known for her baking, especially during the holidays. She loved music and dancing. Earlier on she established and built a business (Whispering Pines Campground) with her ex-husband.
In addition to her parents, Maryann was also preceded by two brothers, Charles and Thomas Paragian.
Survivors include three daughters; Mary Jo Stemrich of Bloomsburg, Melanie A. Stemrich of Stillwater, and Cheryl A. Kile (Paul Moyer) of Orlando, FL, three grandsons; Nicholas Kile of Orlando, FL Andrew King of Bloomsburg, Michael Gensel (Alyssa) of Philadelphia, two granddaughters; Ashley Gensel (Jeremy) of West Chester, Kathleen Miller of Bloomsburg, great-grandson, Emerson Miller of Bloomsburg and several nieces and nephews.
A private Graveside Service will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery, Berwick. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth St., Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Paragian family.
