Mary Clare (Burke) Yatsko, 93, of Danville, formerly of Muhlenberg Township, passed away on March 1, 2025. Born on May 23, 1931, in Philadelphia to the late Thomas and Sadie (Cavanaugh) Burke, Mary Clare attended Holy Angels Elementary School and graduated from Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls in 1948. She later married James B. Yatsko, with whom she shared 54 loving years. Together, they raised their three daughters in Aldan, Delaware County, fostering a deep appreciation for music and academics.
Mary Clare dedicated many years as the office manager of IBEW Local 98 in Philadelphia, where she was respected for her diligence and kindness toward union members. In their later years, she and James settled in Muhlenberg Township, becoming active members of Holy Guardian Angels RC Church, cherishing time with their grandchildren, and traveling. One of her most treasured trips being to Ireland, where she explored her family roots in Donegal.
After James' passing, Mary Clare relocated to the Bloomsburg area, most recently residing at Vintage Knolls Assisted Living in Danville. She loved to drive and shop for bargains and was a proud member of the Association of the Miraculous Medal. A devoted Catholic, she deeply cherished her Irish heritage and, above all, her family.
She is survived by her three daughters: Patricia (David) Clark of Sterling, MA; Eileen (Glenn) Geoghegan of Harpers Ferry, WV; and Carolyn (Carmen) LaMacchia of Bloomsburg, PA.
She was a beloved grandmother to Laura (Ryan), Jessica (Robert), Kelly (Paul), Jeffrey (Raeanne), James, Janet (John), Carmen (Rachel), Ryan (Crista), and Virginia (Shane), as well as a great-grandmother to Joaquin, Ethan, Leland, Milo, Daniel, Oliver, Cassidy, and Jonas.
A Private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the convenience of the family at Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church followed by entombment at Gethsemane Mausoleum. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Yatsko family.
