Mary E. McHenry, age 96, of Bloomsburg, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at her home. She lived in Bloomsburg all her life.

She was born on Thursday, April 1, 1926 in Bloomsburg, a daughter of the late Warren and Mae (Beagle) Crawford. She graduated from the former Scott Twp. High School. Mary married her loving husband, Robert Garth McHenry who preceded her in death October 7, 1989. She was employed by Klingerman Nursing Home in the Housekeeping Department until her retirement in 1994. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Espy, where she was a very active member. She loved doing crafts, embroidering and making peanut butter eggs, bus trips and spending time with her absolutely crazy family. Mary enjoyed having lunch with her friends on Fridays and breakfast every Wednesday morning especially sourdough buckwheat cakes. She loved spending time with her great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, especially her "Jayda girl" when she walked in the door and her boy Carson.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by three children; Linda McHenry, Kathy J. McHenry, and Robert G. McHenry, Jr., and all of her siblings; Margaret Rockwell, Thelma Monroe, Ruth Southwick, Ivan Crawford and Martha Martz. She was last surviving member of her immediate family.

Survivors include her five beloved children; Joyce J. Ginocchio and husband Frank of Hastings, FL, Allen E. McHenry of Bloomsburg, Dale R. McHenry of Bloomsburg, Debbie K. Klinger and her companion Paul Stewart of Bloomsburg, Keith E. McHenry and wife Angela McHenry of Berwick, eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren, one step grandchild, three step great-grandchildren, and also her good friend, Joanie.

Graveside committal services be on Monday, March 27, 2023 at 11:00 am at Elan Memorial Park, 5595 Old Berwick Road, Bloomsburg with her pastor, Rev. Gordon E. Smith, officiating. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the McHenry family.
