Mary G. Lutz, age 98, of Berwick, passed away on Friday, January 1, 2021, a patient of the St. Thomas Acute Care and Rehabilitation Center in Berwick. Mary was a resident of her home in Berwick for over 30 years and was a resident of the area all her life.

She was born on Tuesday, April 18, 1922 in Shickshinny, a daughter of the late Ralph Waldo and Helen Amelia (Edwards) Swisher. Mary was a graduate of the Lake Lehman High School. On June 16, 1939, Mary married her loving husband, Gordon Leonard Lutz, who preceded her in death on November 2, 2003. For over 47 years, Mary was employed by Bloomsburg Mills. She was a member of the Silver Sneakers Group of the Berwick, YMCA.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was also preceded in death by two sisters, Maude Ale, Beatrice Hess, and a brother, Donald F. Swisher.

Survivors include her two children, a son, Terry Lee Lutz and wife Mary Ann of Dryden, NY, a daughter, Judith Ann wife of Bud Doty of Berwick, and a brother, Edward M. Swisher of Farmington, NM.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Mary will be laid to rest next to her husband in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Streets, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Lutz family.
