Mary Jane "Jeri" Marshall, age 92, formerly of Bloomsburg, died on Thursday, March 6, 2014 a resident of Riverwoods in Lewisburg. Prior to moving to the Bloomsburg area in 1959, Jeri was also a former resident of Altoona, Pennsylvania.
Jeri was born on August 3, 1921, in Altoona, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Donald E. and Myrtle M. Calvert. In 1939, Jeri completed her education as a member of the graduating class from the Altoona High School. On July 8, 1943 Jeri married John F. Marshall, Jr. in Altoona. After moving to the Bloomsburg area, Jeri was employed for over 19 years as a secretary in the Placement Office Department of what was then Bloomsburg State College until her retirement in 1983. In addition to her work, she also volunteered with the Bloomsburg Hospital Auxiliary and the Bloomsburg Civic Women's Club. Jeri and her husband were faithful members of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Bloomsburg.
Survivors include her husband of 70 years, John F. Marshall, Jr. of Elmcroft Assisted Living Facility in Lewisburg, a daughter: Linda Knorr of Bloomsburg; a son: John F. Marshall 3rd and wife Mary of Lewisburg; two grandchildren, Seth Knorr and wife Kathie of Pittsburgh; and Jill Knorr of Spottswood, NJ; and a great-grandson; Dylan Knorr.
A time of remembrance and reflection will be held on Saturday, March 29 at 3 p.m. from the Elmcroft Senior Living Facility, 2421 Old Turnpike Road (Route 45) in Lewisburg, PA. Burial will be at a later date at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
