Marvin William Adams, age 82, of Danville, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, February 28, 2020, at his West Hemlock Twp. home surrounded by his loving family. Marvin was a resident of his home for over 55 years.
He was born on Tuesday, October 12, 1937 in Bloomsburg, a son of the late Elmer and Eva (Price) Adams. Marvin faithfully served his country in the U.S. Air Force. On April 15, 1960, Marvin married his loving wife, the former Shirley J. Girton. Marvin and his father operated a cinder block business in Almedia and hauled coal and stone. He later worked at Columbia Silk Mill and Ken Johnson Septic Service and last was owner and founder of Marvin Adams Sanitary Service.
Marvin attended the Community of Christ Church, Bloomsburg. He was a lifetime member of the Buckhorn Fire Company. Marvin enjoyed spending his time wood crafting in his work shop, Nascar, wrestling, football and going on trips with his camper. He enjoyed his dog "Sweet Annie" which she stayed near him while he was ill. Marvin was a hard worker and was very proud of his children and loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Marvin was also preceded in death by a grandson, Damion M. Adams on August 14, 2003.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 59 years, Shirley J. Adams, at home; four children Chip Adams and girlfriend Darlene Stine of Bloomsburg, Jay E. Adams and wife Barbara of Goodview, VA, Larue B. Adams and girlfriend Jen Neary of Ashland, Tammy J. Adams and boyfriend Paul Morris of Millville, six grandchildren, Skip Adams and wife Carey, Beth wife of Tommy Taylor, Christopher Adams, Shawn Adams and girlfriend Niki, Tiffany wife of John Foli, Nicole Adams and boyfriend Mike Rutherford, nine great grandchildren, Caitlin Lowe, Alyssa Adams, Ava Taylor, Camden Foli, Isaiah Foli, Josie Adams, Dominic, Xavier, Rhyleigh, four sisters, Virginia Weaver, Audrey Faus, Gloria wife of Graydon Bitler, and Carol Hess, all of Bloomsburg, along with many nieces and nephews.
At Marvin's request there will be no viewing or funeral services. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Streets, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Adams family.
