Martha Beagle Evans, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at Geisinger Home Health & Hospice at Maria Hall in Danville.

Born in Main Township on May 2, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Peter Delroy Beagle and Mabel Enola (Goodman) Beagle.

Martha graduated from the Bloomsburg High School in 1948 and from the Harrisburg Polyclinic Nursing School in 1951 where she received her training as a Registered Nurse. Martha began her career in the operating room at Bloomsburg Hospital. She also worked as a nurse for Magee Carpet Company. Later she worked as the nurse for urologists Dr. Funke and Dr. Chopra and orthopedic surgeon Dr. Rogers. She also served in various volunteer positions well into her eighties, including the Red Cross, and The Free Clinic of The Volunteers of Medicine of Columbia County in Mifflinville.

She also knitted booties, caps, and blankets for the Nurse Family Partnership. Martha was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Mifflinville for over 60 years. She and her husband Ralph, were members of The Susque Country Squares, a square dance club in Mifflinville.

Martha was preceded in death by her sisters: Mary Beagle, Margaret Knattrup, Ruth Wagner, Sarah Baylor, Florence Keller, and Helen Welsh and her brothers Elmer Beagle and Clair Beagle.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 69 years, Ralph T. Evans, her four children; Mary K. (Evans) Naunas and her husband Robert, Wayne D. Evans and his wife Warna, Nancy A. Evans, David R. Evans and his wife Marjorie; six grandchildren; Andrea Burkhart and her husband Joshua, Aaron Evans and his wife Taryn, Austin Evans and his wife Meagan, James Naunas, Davis Evans, and Mitchell Evans; four great grandchildren Kristen, Logan, Farah, and Flynn Evans, and her sister, Grace Fausey.

A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, June 18, 2021 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at St. John's Lutheran Church, East Fifth Street, Mifflinville. To Celebrate Martha's life a Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 am with her pastor, Rev Chad Hebrink, officiating. Graveside services will follow in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street in Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Evans family.
