Obituary

Marlyn D. Boyles, age 81, of Orangeville, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, a patient of the Sunset Ridge Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Bloomsburg. She was a resident of her home in Orange Township for over 6 years.

Marlyn was born on Sunday, October 10, 1943 in Jersey Shore, a daughter of the late Anthony and Freda (Confair) Portanova. She graduated from the Jersey Shore High School. On May 29, 1964, Marlyn married her loving husband, Gene E. Boyles Sr, who preceded her in death on August 7, 2010. She was a member of the Greenwood Christian Church, Orangeville, and previously attended the Newberry Church of Christ. Marlyn enjoyed spending her time solving puzzles and enjoyed needlepoint on plastic. She had been an avid collector and enjoyed collecting souvenir spoons from all 50 states and Canada, as well as visiting lighthouses and collecting lighthouse replicas. She was very fond of her community attachments in the South Williamsport area, in the 1960s through the late seventies. Marlyn's favorite way to spend her time was babysitting her beloved grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Marlyn was also preceded in death by a son; Jerry Boyles, a foster daughter; Shelli Buck, and a brother; Ralph Confair.

Survivors include six children; Gene E. Boyles Jr. of Dauphin, Kimberly Maryott and husband Louis of Wysox, Kelly Boyles and wife Erica of Punxsutawney, Kevin Boyles and wife Mary Ann of Bloomsburg, Stacy Trovitch of Berwick, Shannon Boyles of Berwick, eleven grandchildren; Bryanna Parise Harteis and husband Andrew, Collin Krum, Austin Krum and wife Malayna, Kristin Boyles, Kailey LeVan and husband Justin, Sierra Tappe and husband Cordell, Megan Sweeney and husband Taylor, Reagan Houk, Brynlee Boyles, William O'Conners, Tiffany Bryington and husband Dan, five great grandchildren, and three sisters; Linda Adams, Toni Flegal and husband Steve of Atoka, TN., and Jean Cox and husband Tom of Avis.

A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, September 22 from 10:00AM to 11:00AM at the Greenwood Christian Church 92 Eagle Road, Orangeville.

Funeral Services will begin on Monday, September 22 at 11:00AM at the Greenwood Christian Church with Rev. Mark Stoker, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in Lemons Cemetery, adjacent to the church. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg, is honored to be serving the Boyles family.
