Marlene R. Butters, age 58, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Thursday morning, February 6, 2025. Marlene was a resident of Bloomsburg all of her life.
She was born on Friday, August 12, 1966 in Bloomsburg, a daughter of John Evert and Anastasia (Eisenhower) Supsic. Marlene graduated from Central Columbia High School in 1984 and from The Pennsylvania College of Technology, Williamsport in 1999 with an associate degree in Hospitality. For over 6 years, Marlene was employed by Lowe's, Bloomsburg as a Manager. She currently co-owned The Farm in Bloom, and previously co-owned Portabella Catering, The Capital Bar and Grill, and lastly Filet 18. Marlene was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church, Bloomsburg. She loved her husband, John of 30+ years, her children, grandchildren and her pets. She liked to garden and was a fantastic cook.
Survivors include her beloved husband of over 30 years, John D. Berger, III, her father, John Evert of Bloomsburg, her mother, Anastasia Supsic of Shamokin, three children; Jennifer R. Butters Doucette and husband Sean, Porsche L. Butters, John D. Berger, IV all of Bloomsburg, five grandchildren; Sofia Doucette, Emma Doucette, Payton Doucette, Gannon Bartholomew, and Summer Bartholomew.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg. A Christian Wake Service will be conducted at 6:00 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at 10:00 am at St. Columba Catholic Church, 342 Iron St., Bloomsburg with Rev. Richard J. Mowery, Celebrant. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in New Rosemont Cemetery, Bloomsburg. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Butters family.
