Mark L. Allen, age 47, of Bloomsburg, died suddenly on Tuesday afternoon, October 8, 2013, in the Geisinger-Bloomsburg Hospital Emergency Room.
Mark was born on Monday, October 18, 1965 in Bloomsburg, a son of the late Jacob and Reba (Whitmoyer) Allen. Mark was employed for many years at the former RR Donnelley in Bloomsburg. Mark attended the Bethany United Methodist Church in Berwick. When time allowed, Mark loved spending his time outdoors, and was a very accomplished trapper of furs and hunter.
In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded by a sister, Martha Harner.
Survivors include four sisters: Kathleen Watts of Bloomsburg; Donna Hower of Bloomsburg; Diane Cox and husband, Charles, of Bloomsburg; and Bonnie Hack of Bloomsburg; three brothers: Harold Allen and wife, Diane, of Bloomsburg; David Allen and wife, Barbara, of Bloomsburg; and Danny Allen and wife, Heather, of Bloomsburg.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, October 11 from 6 to 8 p.m. from the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg.
Funeral services will begin on Saturday, October 12 at 2 p.m. at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., Bloomsburg with Rev. Dwaine Krebs of the Bethany United Methodist Church, officiating. Memorial contributions in Mark's name are suggested to: Kathleen Watts, 62 Frosty Valley Rd., Bloomsburg, PA 17815.
