Marjorie E. (Miller) Crawford, age 97, of Bloomsburg, died on Monday evening, November 3, 2014 under the care of Columbia Montour Home Hospice at Maria Hall in Danville.
Marjorie was born on Thursday, February 4, 1917 in Bloomsburg, a daughter of the late Charles A. and Georgianna (Harris) Miller. Throughout her younger years, Marjorie attended the Bloomsburg area schools. On May 22, 1935, Marjorie married her loving husband, Jay Crawford, of Bloomsburg. For over 20 years, Marjorie was employed by the Miller Office Supply in Bloomsburg until retiring in 1980. She was also a member of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Bloomsburg for many years.
In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Jay Crawford, on November 30, 1993. She was also preceded by six siblings: Edwin "Bud" Miller, Savilla Wilkinson, Alice Byrem, Clyde Miller, Emily Storaska and Marilyn Smith.
Survivors include two daughters: Joyce Pealer of Bloomsburg; Sharon Robbins and companion, Gib Robinson, of Bellefonte; a son: Edwin D. Crawford and wife, Beverly, of Bloomsburg; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, November 7 from 12 to 1 p.m. from the Allen Funeral Home, inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg.
Funeral Services will also begin on Friday, November 7 at 1 p.m. from the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., Bloomsburg with Rev. Gary Reichenbach, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in Lime Ridge. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Crawford family.
