Marjorie Louise Laytar, aged 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 23, 2024, in Danville, PA. Born on February 5, 1945, Marjorie dedicated her life to her family, her community, and her faith.
Marjorie graduated from Martinsburg High School in Martinsburg, WV and later attended Strayer before touching lives everyday as a school secretary with Fairfax County Public Schools. As a homemaker, she nurtured her children with love and devotion. Her life was a testament to her caring and giving nature, always putting others before herself.
A woman of deep faith, Marjorie was an active member of both Immanuel United Methodist Church and later Wesley United Methodist Church. Her faith was expressed through her constant involvement in church activities and her unwavering support for her church family. Marjorie's kind and selfless nature was evident in everything she did, from sitting quietly with her dog, Brandi, to supporting her children and grandchildren.
Marjorie's hobbies included spending time at the beach, camping, quilting, and scrapbooking. She cherished moments spent with her grandchildren, daughters, and Victor, her beloved husband of nearly 58 years. The family always looked forward to their annual trips to the beach to spend time together.
She leaves behind her husband, Victor Laytar; daughters, Laura Plummer and husband Chris of Willow Spring, NC and Linda Laytar of Chetek, WI; grandchildren, Ren Koloni, Rebecca Salman, Allison Sexton, William Sexton, Caitlin Sexton and Justin Sexton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Elvy (Easter) Wagamon, an aunt Letha McCarty and an uncle, Homer Easter.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Wesley United Methodist Church, 130 W. Third St., Bloomsburg.
Celebration of Life Services will begin on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at 11:00 am at Wesley United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark F. Reisinger, officiating. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Laytar family.
