Marjorie A. Gilchrist, age 92, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, a patient of the Nottingham Village in Northumberland. Marjorie was a resident of her home in Bloomsburg for over 5 years.

She was born on Thursday, March 6, 1930, in Rochester, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Paul C. and Vaun (Till) Vanderslice. Marjorie graduated from the Beaver High School in 1947. She was a member of the several Christian Ministries and Garden Club. She enjoyed being an artist, being involved in church activities, playing cards, bible studies, she had a love for nature and loved traveling, she enjoyed cooking for her family and caring for her large family.

In addition to her parents, Marjorie was also preceded in death by her husband Myrl Gilchrist, Jr. and her brother, Paul Vanderslice.

Survivors include her six children, Karin Zimmel and husband Larry of Bloomsburg, Neil Gilchrist and wife Kathy of Lancaster, Eric Gilchrist and wife Deborah of Charlottesville, VA, Tim Gilchrist of Wilmington, NC, Susan Boal and husband Charles of Hanover, PA, Paul Gilchrist and wife Janice of Clemmons, NC, six grandchildren: Kelly Reynolds and husband Brent of Bloomsburg, Kevin Zimmel and wife Jessica of Roanoke, VA, Michael Gilchrist and wife Nicole of Manchester, NH, Christel Dudley and husband James of Warner, NH, David Boal and wife Nadya of Broadlands, VA, Brianne Whitman and husband Joel of Essex, MD, eleven great grandchildren, and one brother, Tom Vanderslice and wife Jean of Sewickley, PA,

A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, October 3, 2022, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. in 745 Market at Eighth St. Bloomsburg.

Funeral Services will begin on Monday, October 3, 2022, at 2:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Dr. Carrie Stine, officiating. Graveside committal services will be scheduled at a later date. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Gilchrist family.
