Marie Lanzafame, age 72, of Orangeville, and formerly of Long Island, NY passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2018, a patient of the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Marie was a resident of The Gardens at Orangeville for the past 7 years.
She was born on Friday, June 22, 1945 in New York City, NY, a daughter of the late Anthony and Angelina (Mancuso) Lanzafame. Marie graduated from the Deer Park High School, Long Island, NY, in 1963.
She was employed as a Secretary for the state of New York in Manhattan for many years until her retirement. Marie was a member of the Guide Dog Foundation, Smithtown, NY and was very active with her church community.
In addition to her parents, Marie was also preceded by two brothers, Joseph Lanzafame and Salvatore Lanzafame and a sister, Angeline Sala.
Survivors include a brother, Santo J. Lanzafame of Bloomsburg, niece, Tracy Lanzafame of Bloomsburg, nephew, Anthony M. Lanzafame and wife Doreen of Long Island, NY, great nephew, Addison Lanzafame of Bloomsburg, also by several other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside Funeral Services will begin on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 11:00 am at New Rosemont Cemetery, Old Berwick Road, Bloomsburg with Rev. Richard J. Mowery, Bloomsburg University Catholic Campus Minister, officiating. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Streets, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Lanzafame family.
