Marie A. Hons, age 79, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2024, at her home in Mifflin Twp. where she lived for over 56 years.

Marie was born on Thursday, August 3, 1944 in Zion Grove, a daughter of the late Allen and Blanche (Davis) Beaver. She graduated from the Bloomsburg High School in 1963. Marie expanded her education by attending Empire Beauty School, Pottsville. On July 3, 1965, she married her loving husband, Allen F. Hons. For many years, Marie was employed by Columbia County Prison as a Correctional Officer and Cook until her retirement in 2006. She was a member of the St. Peter's (Hargers) Reformed Lutheran Church. Marie loved taking care of her kids and grandkids attending all of their events, cooking, word search puzzles and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings: Rollin, Jack and Joan.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 58 years: Allen F. Hons of Bloomsburg; four sons: Mark Hons of Bloomsburg, Brian Hons and wife Lynn of Drums, Scott Hons and wife Sara of Bloomsburg, Todd Hons and wife Janelle of York; five granddaughters: Kayla of Bethesda, MD, Emily of Athens, GA, Isabella of York, Madelyn of York, Reese of Bloomsburg and one grandson: Ryan of Bloomsburg.

A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg.

Funeral Services will begin on Friday, June 7, 2024 at 2:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Christine Kirchner, St. Peter's Hargers Lutheran Church, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in Elan Memorial Park, Bloomsburg. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Hons family.
