Marian A. (Kase) Breech, age 95, a resident of Catawissa for over 64 years, died on Monday morning, October 19, 2015 a resident of Geisinger-Bloomsburg Health Care for almost a year.
Marian was born on Tuesday, May 4, 1920 in Elysburg, the only daughter of Paul and Mary (Sanders) Kase. Marian was raised in Elysburg with her brother Melvin, where they attended the former Elysburg High School, and she graduated in 1938. Marian married her first husband, William Wolfe, also of Catawissa and made their home in Catawissa with their only son, Larry D. Wolfe. Following her first husband's passing in 1942, Marian remarried, Robert D. Breech, and also made their home in Catawissa raising two additional sons, Dale and Jack Breech, and a daughter, Judith Breech. Marian dedicated her life to raising her children and caring for her family. Marian loved spending time with her family, and will also be remembered for her talented green thumb of gardening and growing beautiful flowers. She will also be remembered for her talent of being a very talented cook. While living in Catawissa, she was a member of the former St. John Lutheran Church at Sharps Ridge, and currently a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was also a member sharing her talents with the Catawissa Garden Club, and also served as a Lioness with her late husband in the Catawissa Lions Club.
Marian was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents, Marian was preceded in death by her first husband, William Wolfe In 1942 and also by her second husband, Robert D. Breech in 2006; her only brother, Melvin Kase; and her only daughter, Judith Breech in 1996.
Survivors include her three sons: Larry D. Wolfe and wife, Mary-Lue, of Catawissa; Dale Breech and wife, Nancy, also of Catawissa; and Jack Breech and wife, Sheree, of Martinsburg, WV; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Lin Brown, of Catawissa.
Graveside services will be held privately in the Hillside Cemetery in Catawissa. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street in Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Wolfe and Breech families.
