Margaret A. "Peggy" Kelchner, age 80, of Millville, died on Tuesday morning, May 7, 2024 at Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip, New York.
Born in Millville on July 11, 1943, she was the daughter of the late John E. and Margaret E. (Christ) Brown. She graduated from Millville High School in 1961.
Peggy was a homemaker who also worked as a healthcare assistant in physician's offices and at Grandview Nursing & Rehabilitation in Danville. She was a member of the Mill-Green United Methodist Church, where she was involved in the music ministry and handbell choir. She was also a member of the Benton Lions Club and Benton Rodeo Association. She enjoyed baking and playing piano, as well as spending time with her family and dog, Bailey.
In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dean Kelchner, on March 12, 2015, to whom she was married for 53 years; her daughter Kathy Kelchner, on July 1, 1983; and her four brothers: Glen Brown, Gordon Brown, Richard Brown, and Warren Brown.
She is survived by her son, Timothy Kelchner, and his wife Laura of Bay Shore, NY, as well as her two grandchildren, whom she adored: Amelia and Carson, and several nieces and nephews.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Mill-Green United Methodist Church, 75 South State St., Millville.
Funeral Services will begin on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Mill-Green United Methodist Church with Peggy's pastor, Rev. Robert W. Strozyk, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in the Millville Cemetery, Millville. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Kelchner family.
