Margaret E. "Peg" Dent, age 90, of West Third Street, Bloomsburg died on Saturday, March 03, 2012 after a brief stay at Columbia Montour Home Hospice at Maria Hall in Danville. Peg has been a resident of W. Third St. for over 16 years and formerly of her home on Ridge Avenue in Bloomsburg for over 44 years.
Peg was born on Sunday, October 2, 1921 in Noxen, PA a daughter of the late Joseph and Lena Dotter. In 1939, she graduated High School from the Noxen One Room Schoolhouse. She dedicated her life and all of her love to caring for her husband, children and grandchildren throughout her life. On February 15, 2010, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 70 years, the late V. Jay Dent; also by a daughter, Patricia Miller in May of 1984 and most recently by her daughter, Marilyn "Toot" Kile on January 17, 2012.
Survivors include her grandchildren: Vivian Kile of Bloomsburg, who cared for her: Daniel Kile and wife, Libby, of Bloomsburg; Ronald Kile and wife, Jo Ann, of Wellsville, NY; Jessica Steinruck and husband, Richard, of Waldorf, MD; and Donna Weaver and husband, Chris, of Riverside; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 6 at 11 a.m. from the St. Luke Lutheran Church, 9 St. Luke Way, Bloomsburg with Rev. Jeffrey G. Bohan, officiating. Friends will be received at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Graveside Services will follow in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy.
