Margaret "Peggy" L. Cavallini , age 84, a life long resident of Bloomsburg, died on Friday, April 22, 2016.
Peggy was born on Thursday, December 31, 1931 in Morristown, New Jersey, a daughter of the late John Faye and Emma (Jones) Snyder. Throughout her younger years she attended the Bloomsburg area schools and later graduated from the Bloomsburg High School in 1948.
For over 25 years, Peggy was employed by Bloomsburg Agway as an Bookkeeper. Peggy was a member of the St. Columba Catholic Parish. She was also a member of the Bloomsburg Moose L.O.O.M #623, Nippenose Hiking Club which maintained the Loyalsock Trail, the Junior Women's Club of Bloomsburg and the March of Dimes. In addition to hiking, Peggy enjoyed spending her time cross country skiing, crocheting, knitting and sewing. She was known for her handiwork earning numerous awards at Bloomsburg Fair. Peggy was fond of many forms of dancing.
In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded by a sister, Charlotte LaMontangue.
Survivors include a son, Patrick E. Kelley and wife, Wanda of Greencastle, IN, three daughters, Alessandra M. Cavallini of Berwick, Marialana A. Lenhart of Bloomsburg, and Ava Maria D'Alexander of Bloomsburg, three local grandchildren, Angela D'Alexander Scott, Damian M. D'Alexander and John M. Lenhart and great grandchildren, Lena and Alix Scott.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. Market at Eighth St., Bloomsburg.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at 11:00 am at St. Columba Catholic Church, Third and Iron Streets, Bloomsburg with, Msgr. Robert E. Lawrence as celebrant. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in Lime Ridge. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Cavallini family.
