Mahlon C. Keefer, 70, of Bloomsburg, passed away peacefully Monday, July 13, 2026 at Nottingham Village in Northumberland. Born in Bloomsburg on January 25, 1956, he was a son of the late Mahlon and Sarah (Beach) Keefer.

Mr. Keefer was a graduate of Southern Columbia High School, Class of 1975. He had been employed by Catawissa Lumber & Specialty Co. and Design Homes, from which he retired in 2018. Mahlon enjoyed building models and woodworking, as well as spending time with his beloved family.

Surviving Mahlon are his children: Pamela Long and husband, Christopher, of Bloomsburg, Sara Smith of Stevens, and Valerie Hatcher and husband, Jerry, of Mountain Top; grandchildren: Gavin Long, Liam Smith, Evelynn Smith, Quinn Smith, Bella Hatcher and Caden Hatcher; and siblings: Carol Brown of Sunbury and Joe Keefer and wife, Ann, of Clearview, FL.

In addition to his parents, Mahlon was preceded in death by brother, Stephen Michael Keefer.

Mahlon’s services, with his interment at Catawissa Hillside Cemetery, are private and at the convenience of his family.
