Louis Allen Flynn, age 61, of Paradise Drive, Berwick died on Monday, March 14, 2011 suddenly at his residence. Louis was a resident of his home in Berwick for the past ten years and formerly of Fargo, North Dakota.
Louis was born on Tuesday, October 18, 1949 in Moorhead, Minnesota, a son of Dorothy E. Wanzek Flynn of Moorhead, MN and the late Charles M. Flynn. Louis graduated from Moorhead High School and also attended Moorhead State College. He served during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Marine Corps. While residing in Fargo, he was employed as a Mason and most currently was employed as a cook by Work Experience in Berwick. He was a member of the Salvation Army in Berwick. He enjoyed the sport of softball and also participated in the setup of softball and horseshoe tournaments for terminally ill individuals in his community.
Surviving is his beloved wife of 12 years, Deborah Keller Flynn; four sons: Chris Flynn and his wife, Cheryl Stubbe, of Fargo, ND; Nathan, Tony and Tim Flynn all of West Fargo, ND; four brothers: Patrick Flynn and his wife, Marlene; Jack Flynn and his wife, Debbie Parker, both of Minneapolis, MN; Michael Flynn and his wife, Susan; and Daniel Flynn both of Fargo, ND; three sisters: Nancy Johnson and her husband, Loren, of Chicago, IL; Teresa LePage of Detroit, MI; Colleen Odney and her husband, Nels, of Moorhead, MN; a step-son: Nathan Flick and his wife, Rachel, of Bloomsburg; step-daughter: Lisa Steinruck and her husband, Jared, of Berwick; and seven grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, March 21 at 6 p.m. from the Berwick Salvation Army, 320 W. Second St. in Berwick with Lt. Kevin Polito and Lt. Kelly Polito, officiating. Burial will be held in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN. The Flynn family is being assisted by the Allen Funeral Home, 745 Market at Eighth Street in Bloomsburg.
