Linda Jean Cook, age 70, passed away peacefully on July 4th, 2023 in the presence of her family and friends.

She was a loving wife of Ken Cook, with whom she spent 45 years of marriage. Born in the Bloomsburg area, she was the daughter of the late Carl Breisch and Iva Edith (Fink) Trumbore.

Linda graduated from Central Columbia High School, Bloomsburg. After many years as a Registered Nurse, she pursued her PhD in Nursing. She was employed as an Associate Professor of Nursing at Bloomsburg University until her retirement in 2012, where she most enjoyed working with students to care for patients.

She was a devout Christian, with many close friends associated with the Catawissa United Methodist Church and recently befriending the Bloomsburg Christian Church. She loved to bake and actively participated in a bowling league as well as reading, bible study groups and suicide prevention programs. She volunteered for civic programs and food banks. She greatly enjoyed physical fitness, including long walks around her home with her dog. She was also a Certified Lay Speaker for United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her beloved husband Ken B. Cook, a son, Keith B. Cook and wife Meralea of Trout Run, a daughter, Laura B. Cook and husband Andres Covarrubias of Hampstead, NC, two grandchildren, Marissa A. Cook of Trout Run, Kaleb J. Cook of Trout Run, a brother, Stanley C. "Butch" Breisch and his companion Barbara Bayer of Bloomsburg.

A Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, August 7, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Bloomsburg Christian Church, 107 Deussen Drive, Bloomsburg. A Memorial Service will begin at 7:00 pm. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Cook family.
