LLaura L. Long, age 36, of Bloomsburg, died on Saturday evening, February 20, 2016, in the Emergency Room of the Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital. Laura was a resident of Bloomsburg her entire life.
Laura was born on Saturday, October 27, 1979 in Danville, Pennsylvania, a daughter of Marsha "Sis" (Chapin) Yannes and her step father, William F. Yannes of Bloomsburg. Throughout her younger years, Laura attended the Bloomsburg area schools, and later graduated from the Columbia Montour Area Vocation Technical School in 1999 in the culinary arts program. Laura expanded her education by attending the Pennsylvania College of Technology. During her younger years, Laura was employed at the local Burger King in Buckhorn. For many years, she was employed as a CNA at the Berwick Retirement Village and most recently at Balanced Care at Bloomsburg until her health would not allow. Laura grew to love cooking and preparing the most delicious dishes. Her dreams were to become a chef until she was diagnosed with heart and lung disease. She was a very kind hearted and giving person, she would do anything for everyone before herself. Laura enjoyed most of all spending her time with her family and especially her great nephew and niece. She also enjoyed spending time watching cooking shows, playing bingo and computer games.
