Laura Kathryn "Dolly" Krum , age 95, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2018, under the care of Geisinger Hospice at the home of her daughter Melanie Stanley. Dolly was a resident of her Third St. home in Bloomsburg for over 58 years.
She was born on Tuesday, June 20, 1922 in Danville, a daughter of the late Franklin John and Ethel Beatrice (Bennett) Garrow. Dolly graduated from the Danville High School in 1940. On June 18, 1943, she married her loving husband, Eugene G. Krum who preceded her in death on December 27, 1998. For over 40 years, Dolly was employed by Geisinger Medical Center as a Medical Secretary until her retirement in 1993. She attended the Christian Gospel Fellowship Church, Millville. Dolly served Christ through ministry with children, her service included Child Evangelism Clubs in her home, Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent and 40 years of faithful service in charge of the church nursery. Dolly also loved spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, and husband, Dolly was also preceded by a beloved granddaughter, Stephanie Jean Stanley on October 2, 2015 a brother, John Franklin Garrow and a sister Beatrice Ethel Umstead.
Survivors include two daughters, Melanie Jean wife of Dr. Don Stanley of Bloomsburg; Wendy Krum wife of Rick Davis of Nazareth; eight grandchildren, Jennifer E. wife of Bryan Hurlbutt of South Jordan, UT; Kathryn M. wife of Brian Dixson of Berwick; Ian D. Stanley of Bloomsburg; Tristan P. Stanley of Bloomsburg; Cameron W. Stanley of Bloomsburg; Megan E. Davis of Nazareth; Gillian B. wife of Jeremy Flanagan of Pen Argyl; Grayson L. Davis of Nazareth; eight great grandchildren, Brynne E. Hurlbutt, Reghan E. Hurlbutt, Tierney E. Hurlbutt, Kieran A. Dixson, Brogan J. Dixson, Finley Jean Dixson, Thatcher J. Flanagan, Piper K. Flanagan and a sister Ruth L. Weller of Boca Raton, FL.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at the Christian Gospel Fellowship Church, 2938 State Rte 42, Millville.
Funeral Services will begin on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at 10:00 am at the Christian Gospel Fellowship Church with Rev. Paul C. Converse Sr., officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in the New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth Streets, Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Krum family.
