Larry R. Nuss, age 88, of Mainville, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023, a patient of the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
He was born on Monday, September 16, 1935 in Mainville, a son of the late Franklin "Hank" and Rebecca (Davis) Nuss. Larry graduated from the former Beaver High School, Mainville. He faithfully served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1960. For over 25 years, Larry was employed by Geisinger Medical Center, Danville in the Maintenance Department until his retirement.
He enjoyed spending his time fishing and hunting, especially rabbit hunting with his many beagles over the years. He loved watching his grandkids play high school and college sports and watching the Philadelphia Phillies, Philadelphia Eagles and Penn State athletics. He enjoyed spending his time with the "River Rats" at the Bloomsburg Boat Launch and his many friends in Mainville. He played Tri-County baseball for Mainville and Orangeville. He also coached Little League baseball in Catawissa for many years and Teener League baseball in Elysburg.
In addition to his parents, Larry was also preceded in death by his first wife, Delores (Shultz) Nuss, and his second wife, Suzanne (Rhoads) Nuss.
Survivors include his three beloved children; a son, Rich Nuss and his wife Nancy of Scotch Valley, a daughter, Cindy Kerchusky and her husband Joe of Black Creek Twp., a daughter, Courtney Nuss, five grandchildren, Nicole Nuss of Oregon, Rita Nuss of Bloomsburg, Hank Nuss of Bloomsburg, Mike Kerchusky of Northampton, and Kim Kerchusky of Black Creek Twp.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market at Eighth streets, Bloomsburg.
Funeral Services will begin on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at 6:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Michael Spagnuolo, pastor of Catawissa Christian Church, officiating.
Graveside committal services will be held privately in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge with military honors provided by the Catawissa VFW Honor Guard. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Nuss family.
