Lap Kim Truong, age 83, of Shenandoah, passed away on Wednesday morning, May 22, 2024, a patient of Rosewood Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Schuylkill Haven. Lap was a resident of his home in Shenandoah for many years.

He was born on Sunday, November 24, 1940, in Sa Dec, Vietnam, a son of the late Thong Truong and his wife. He attended school in Vietnam and served in the Vietnamese Navy. In 1963, Lap married his loving wife, Yen Pham who preceded him in death in 1981. In 1975, he immigrated to the United States. For over 20 years, Lap was employed by King Doughnuts, Shenandoah as a baker until his retirement in 1995. Lap enjoyed his time gardening.

In addition to his parents and wife, Lap was also preceded in death by two siblings. He was the last of his immediate family.

Survivors include his four beloved children; Dan Truong and wife Hang of Bloomsburg and their child: Betty Truong, Lan Truong and husband Benjamin Lam of Sicklerville, NJ and their children: Albert and Alex Lam, Donald Truong and wife Ngoc Nguyen of Bloomsburg and their child: Thu Truong, Loan Truong and husband Tam Pham of Bloomsburg and their child: Andy Pham.

A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 745 Market at Eighth Street, Bloomsburg. Funeral Services will begin on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at 11:00 am at the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. with Rev. Michael Spagnuolo, Catawissa Christian Church, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in Elan Memorial Park, Bloomsburg. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Truong family.
