Kenneth L. Myers, age 80, of Bloomsburg, passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2018, at his residence. Ken was a resident of his home in Bloomsburg for over 36 years.
He was born on Tuesday, July 6, 1937 in Rock Glen, a son of the late Earl and Edna (Welsh) Myers. Ken graduated from the Black Creek High School, Rock Glen. He faithfully served his country in the U.S. Army, enlisting in 1959 and was honorably discharged in 1962. On June 8, 1963, Ken married his loving wife, Sondra (Seiple) Myers. Ken worked for the former R & G Silk Mill and the Columbia Silk Mill for many years. For over 15 years, Ken was employed by Bemis Polyethylene Packaging, West Hazleton until his retirement in 2017. He enjoyed Penn State Football, the Bloomsburg Fair and traveling the local area.
In addition to his parents, Ken was also preceded by six brothers, Harvey Welsh, Joel Myers, George "Allie" Myers, Eugene Myers, Sr., Earl Myers and Franklin Myers, two sisters, Margaret Force and Rosemary Palesky.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Sondra Myers a daughter, Lorie M. wife of Doug Tavella of Effort, PA; three sisters, Suzanne Piasecki of Nuremberg; Bonnie wife of Raymond Adams of Rock Glen; and Kay wife of Joseph Riotto of Rock Glen.
A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Trinity United Church of Christ, 1288 Mountain Street, Rock Glen, PA.
Funeral Services will begin on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Trinity United Church of Christ, Rock Glen with Pastor Dwayne Nichols, officiating. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Market St., Bloomsburg is honored to be serving the Myers family.
